Defining the characteristics of each literary school.
Gaining a knowledge of the most famous Arab literary figures.
Reading and analysing literary works. (practicing literary criticism)
Knowing the most common purposes of poetry and figures of speech.
Level One:
General view on the Arabic Literature.
Level Two:
Literature before Islam.
Level Three:
Literature in the early period of Islam and the Umayyad age
Level Four:
The History of Arabic Literature in the Abbasid Period
Level Five:
The History of Arabic Literature in the Andalusian Period
Level Six:
Modern Arabic Literature.
3- Textbooks:
History of Arabic Literature written by Pr. Shawqi Daif
4- Prerequisites
- Passing the intermediary stage.
- Going through a course in Arabic Rhetoric (Balagha).
